The bird fauna of the Croatian National Park "Paklenica" investigated from 1984 to 1996 is presented. During 297 field days 193 bird species (196 with data from other authors) were recorded in the area of National Park and its surroundings, out of which 91 are breeding ones.

Pompano, Trachinotus ovatus (Linnaeus, 1758), is a rare species in the Adriatic Sea. Its fingerling was caught for the first time in the vicinity of small settlement Bol and sandy beach Zlatni rat, island of Brac (eastern middle Adriatic). The main morphometric and meristic data of one specimen are given. This record shows us that this species mostly occurs in the southern Adriatic, and probably also spawns in the eastern middle Adriatic.

The aim of the paper is to present
summarized literature data to provide the first systematic inventory of
Croatian freshwater Chlorophyceae
taxa. The list is a result of
the author's investigation and of detailed analyses of more than one hundred
papers, published in the period from 1900 to 1996. Degree of saprobity
is included for all indicator species.
The list of freshwater Chlorophyceae
consists of 97 genera with 412 species. Species indicators of o, o-ß
and ß mesosaprobity are predominant (95%). The most common species
in the biotopes investigated were: Crucigenia rectangularis Gay.,
Coelastrum
astroideum De Not., Scenedesmus acuminatus Chod.,
S. quadricauda
Breb.,
S. obliquus Kütz., Closterium acerosum Ehr.,
C. aciculare
West and Cosmarium botrytis Menegh.

The freshwater sediments near Srb in Lika, Central Croatia, contain well preserved sample of molluscs, plant remains and other fossils of lacustrine shallow water environment. Two new gastropod species: Odontohydrobia croatica n. sp. and Limnidia likana n. sp., together with other determined taxa indicate the Pliopleistocene age of these sediments.

Two barnacles, Chthamalus montagui and Platylepas hexastylos, not previously noted in the Eastern Adriatic Sea are recorded. Morphological features, finding localities and ecological data on both species are noted.

In this work new localities and those already known of the species Eranthis hyemalis in Croatia are given. The new habitats are Luzani, Ciglenik, Celinkovici, Sibinj, Zavrsje, Vrhovina, Trnjani, Garcin and Donji Andrijevci. On these localities, the winter aconite grows at the edges of woodland, shrub and grassland. All localities were discovered in February, 1995.

In the paper the finding of the taxon Saxifraga hederacea L., a new species for the flora of Calabria (Italy) is reported, and its overall area is shown with special reference to its northwestern part. The syntaxonomic interpretation was made of the vegetation within which S. hederacea is developed. A special association Umbilico-Saxifragetum hederaceae Trinajstic, ass. nov. (Oxali-Galion murale, Parietarietalia judaicae, Parietarietea judaicae) is described.

From 1971 to 1990, on the territory of Baranja more than 50 hybrids, totalling 1310, from FAO groups 100-700 were examined every year. Climatic conditions and tolerance of some hybrids had the highest influence on the incidence and attack of the corn borer(Ostrinia nubilalis Hübner). Average attack was from 2.32% in 1979 to 51.65% in 1973. Between FAO groups 100 and 200 in correlation to 700, attack was higher by 6% in FAO group 700.
